Overview
Cast-in-place walls are poured directly on site inside forms, producing one continuous concrete structure with no joints for water to exploit. For Asheville's hills, heavy rainfall and shifting soils, that monolithic strength is often the most dependable foundation system available.
We handle the entire sequence in-house: excavation and footing prep, form setting, rebar placement to the engineered spec, pour, consolidation, controlled curing and form stripping. Wall thickness and reinforcement are matched to backfill height and soil pressure rather than a one-size template.
Water management is designed in, not added later. Depending on the site we incorporate waterproofing membranes, drainage board, footing drains and gravel backfill so hydrostatic pressure never gets a chance to build behind the wall.
The result is a basement or foundation wall that resists moisture intrusion, cracking and settlement — and, when installed and drained correctly, routinely performs for fifty years or more.

Cast-in-place walls are typically stronger and more water-resistant because they form a solid, monolithic structure. Block foundations can work well, but poured walls often offer better durability in challenging soil and moisture conditions.
Installed correctly with proper drainage and maintenance, cast-in-place concrete walls can last 50 years or more. Routine inspections and moisture control extend that lifespan further.
