Overview
Appalachian Excavation & Concrete is a locally owned, family-operated excavation and concrete contractor serving Hendersonville and the surrounding Western North Carolina communities. We know how water moves across this terrain, how local soils behave when they get saturated, and what it takes to build driveways, foundations and retaining walls that hold up here.
Hendersonville mixes established in-town neighborhoods with newer construction on rolling and sloped parcels. That combination means we spend as much time replacing aging driveways and repairing settled foundations as we do preparing pads for new builds — and both call for accurate excavation before any concrete is placed.
Because Henderson County properties often sit on gentler grades than central Asheville, drainage problems here tend to show up as standing water and slow-draining yards rather than washouts. We correct those with grading, swales and drainage that actually pitch water where it should go.

Yes. Standing water usually comes from insufficient pitch or a blocked outlet. We regrade, install drainage and, where needed, add a retaining or seat wall to shape the flow away from structures.
Spring through fall books fastest. Two to four weeks of lead time is typical, though we can often move sooner on smaller repairs and urgent drainage issues.
